not being a religious person i could never figure out why they are called the 7 deadly sins. i guess i would mainly be guilty of sloth, if that means lazy. i have been in lust, often overeat, have been envious, and angry, have wanted more, and whats wrong with being proud? no lectures please, just asking the question.

I am guilty of them all......
Pride is normally number one on all the list I have seen.

You asked What is wrong with being proud.Being proud is not the same as being prideful.....IMHO

Pride in this list means that you can do it without God and that is why in all the list I have seen it is number one on the list....That you do not need anyone no less God.....
What I have been taught about the first of the deadly sins it is the mother of all sins...The sin from which all other rise.....The gateway sin (the marijuana) of sin ...
The sin of pride was the first sin committed
It was the sin of Lucifer...
The sin of Adam and Eve
In the bible it is said God hates the sin of Pride more then any sin......Why these sins are called The seven deadly sins is that sin kills are relationship with God..........The sin is like a gun deadly...........I have a real problem with Pride

The ''sins'' originated as a classification of vices that were originally used in early Christian teachings to educate and instruct followers concerning (immoral) fallen man's tendency to sin.
The Roman Catholic Church divided sin into two principal categories: "venial", which are relatively minor, and could be forgiven through any sacrament of the Church, and the more severe "capital" or mortal sin, which, when committed, destroyed the life of grace, and created the threat of eternal damnation unless either absolved through confession, or otherwise forgiven through perfect contrition on the part of the ''sinner''
I am not a religious person either. Everyone has felt or acted on these emotions at one time or another. I am not ''guilty'' of allowing any of them to become a regular part of my life.
Sorry, I know you just wanted a fun answer. Sometimes I don't have that ability.

I think at one time or another I have been "guilty" of each of these so called sins. I don't necessairly think it is a bad thing if i have learned something from the experiences. ♥

It would be much quicker and easier to proudly state that I'm not very guilty of #7.

Wait a minute... DARN!
