There are several things to consider. The going rate for residential work is roughly $65. As other posters listed .... the availability of a 240 volt slot in you breaker panel would have a large impact. Let's assume you have a slot.... then the wire for a 30amp dryer plug is #10 and the price is roughly $1.00 per foot ( 60' average).... so the distance from the panel to the laundry room would be a factor.... then also consider the box, receptacle, and cover and you will add another $20. The time it would take would depend on access to the attic, etc. ... so let's say 3 hours to complete the job. Given all of these assumptions, the cost would be roughly $300 w/tax. This would be a rough ballpark figure and could go up or down depending on the electrician and the part of the country you live in. Hope this helps.

An electrician in NY city will charge a lot more than an electrician in Fort Smith AR. It all depends on the part of the country you live in.

If your breaker box is full you will be paying a lot more to have a sub panel installed or a new breaker box installed. Get 3 estimates before hiring anybody.

in the us you dont need a transformer to get 220v. hire an electrician to run the wire and install the outlet. The cost may depend on if you have a vacant slot in your breaker box to install a dual pole breaker,

Depends on where you are located. If you are in India it would be different than if you were in Europe. And if you are in USA, you would need a transformer (step up) to increase the voltage from 110 V to 220 V and so it would be more expensive.

It depends on how much wire is needed. I wouldn't do it for less than $200.
