We are "there". We are waiting for a January 6th PET scan to see if the aggressive chemo and radiation treatment my husband just went through made a difference in an inoperable carotid artery tumor foundlast August. I can't speak for everyone in this situation - but with us - it is so important to feel some sort of NORMALCY right now. We are where we are but we realize that the activities, the hustle and bustle, the lighthearted joy of the season is still happening for all of the other people in our lives and we are thankful for that. Let them know you love them and wish them a peace and comfort- filled Christmas. Merry Christmas everybody.

Nothing that says or infers anything about the illness.
Christmas cards are meant to be uplifting, a celebration of life.
If you feel you need to say something, put it in a different format.

You're so thoughtful to be concerned about writing the right thing.
You don't have to be too morose -- just wishing them peace and love at Christmas will do it.

I would write:
" May God bless you and your family this Holiday season..... I will be keeping you in my prayers, Merry Christmas"

Hmmm... that's a tough one. I would say "May Christ bless you in many ways this Christmas." but I am not sure what else.
