The brain is devided into 2 parts. Called the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere. Each half controls the other half of your body. So if the left side of your brain malfuntioned for lack of a better situation. It is very possible that parts from the right side of your body will be effected. Now even though the brain is devided into 2 parts it is still connect. What connects these two parts is called the "Corpus Callosum".
If you want to consider the primal parts of the brain knowen as the Medulla, Cerebellum, and the Reticular Formation as part of that. They are not devided.
Now as far as the 10% part. The brain is made up of millions of tiny neurons which contain things like the cell body, axons, neurotransmitters, the Synapse, and the Dendrite. All of this passes information from one cell body to the next. Making your thinking, memory, muscle usage, breathing, ect ect. all things your brain controls which is well beyond you realize. So it it hard to say weither we use 10% of our brains. I consider that we use 100% of our brains for all sorts of things that it is useful for but we don't realize. Maybe the 10% is what we realize we are doing....

Yes it is divided into 2 sides but there are like 4 parts of out brain that are used.
It depends on what you are doing, if your watching tv then you are only using about 10%, but doing math and reading you are using about 75%. You will never use your whole brain at one time.

The brain is technically two hemispheres. Theres a Left and Right hemisphere of the brain...so yes you can say your brain is "divided" . There is a link between the two hemispheres so that you left and right parts of your brain can cooperate.
And no, you dont only use 10% of your brain. Saying that would mean that 90% of your brain is worthless! That is a washed up, misunderstood myth. The truth is that you consciously use 10% of your brain, the rest of your brain processing is unconscious (which means you dont even notice it).

Yes, the brain is divided into 2 sides, the left and right hemisphere, by the fluid-filled corpus callosum. This fluid-filled space is used for communication between the different specialization parts (or areas) of the brain.
In psychology, the brain is divided in these two parts figuratively. People who are said to be right-brained tend to be artistically-inclined, have abstract thinking, and so on. Artists, writers, musicians, philosophers, and the like are "right-brained". Those that are left-brained are said to be numerically-inclined, have analytic thinking, and so on. Mathematicians, scientists, and so on are "left-brained".

No, the brain is divided into top and bottom, hence the term bottom-feeders!!! LOL
Seriously, yes, the brain has a left half and a right half. The left half controls the right side of the body, and the right half controls the left. Again, yes, most people only use about 10% of their brain capacity.

Well, I'm not quiet sure, because I have heard many things, but here are some interesting links and pictures for you to see. I read them, and I learned very many things about the human brain. Also, I do know the brain is divided up into 2 segments. Hope you enjoy learning about the human brain!

Your brain is divided into two hemispheres that function somewhat differently. In most people, the left side of the brain is the source of logical, analytical thought and the right side is more holistic and creative.
And current thinking is that we use most of our brain, not just ten percent as was once thought.

Well, there are myths that people use only 10% to 20% of the brain (which is true). And there is also a myth that their is a left and right side of the brain, but i am not sure of that.

yes, your brain is divided into two halves called hemispheres. different activities are controlled by different areas of your brain. the 10% statistic is kind of deceiving -- you only use about 10% of your brain at any given time, but that doesn't mean 90% of your brain is wasted. you just use different parts of your brain at different times for different things. you're probably only using about 10% right now, but over the course of the day today, you used much more of it -- just not all at the same time.

The brain is divided into two hemosphere, they both do different things, Im not sure which side does which, but one side does like voice related things and word problems and stuff, whereas the other, im pretty sure its the right side does stuff that doesnt involve words or anything, like drawing and painting.
Also the left side does all of the movement in the right side of your body and vice versa.
I'm not sure how much brain we use, but I'd think it would be more than that.
