Because the Iranian president is subserviant to the Rahbar and the Guardian Council. Btw, it isn't a theocracy- it's a religious democracy. While the Rahbar is the head of state, the President is granted more executive power.

Having a theocracy does not negate having a President at all. For that matter, you can have a "president" and be a communist government! It just means the leader is elected. A theocracy can still hold elections. It just means that church and state are not separated.

It has a president because the US decided to interfere with its ways, it's still maintaining it's theocracy against what our president wants, but i think going into iran is pointless.
