Oh Reverend Tilton
Here is my dime
Please call up Jesus
Get him on the line
I've been busy sinnin'
Now I'm runnin' out of time
I've got to be forgiven
For this cheatin' and this lyin'

Chorus:
Fire and brimstone
Rain down on me
Fire and brimstone
Like when you split the sea
Fire and brimstone
I'm down on my knees
Fire and Brimstone please

I go to church on Sunday
Listen to the word of God
At the track on Monday
Lookin' for some better odds
I listen intently
As the preacher says with glee
For the Holy Trifecta
Twenty dollars please

True, Sam. Mark sings it better than I do.

This is also the one that a few bands still play. I almost got Greg Camp to record Sheryl's song.

I think you can get it as a ring tone also...

The irony is wonderful; especially giggled at "the Holy Trifecta." Another illustration of people not taking responsibility for their own actions, but instead betting the odds that in the end, they'll be forgiven (or get away with) the bad things they've done for an entire lifetime.

Hi TD,
Hope you do not mind these two points that yelled at me.

S1L6: “Now I'm runnin' out of time”
I’m runnin out of time, flows better for me.

S1L8: : For this cheatin' and this lyin'”
I would drop the “this”.

Your use of slang is cool but not my style.
I like it in a sense and I did obtain the meaning behind it.

Nice.

Peace,
Sam

That is so special.

Should I donate the pennies on my eyes?
When I gives it up and dies
Then will bad ol' me be forgiven?
When I've paid for my stairway to heaven
Should I go there for the scenery?
Or go to hell for the company

Decisions . . . decisions

Sometimes words are thrown away as a smile gets more audible than laughter!

I saw where you said "Do you like it"?
But after reading it, I just smiled........I am still smiling!
