I swear, this question gets asked at least three times a day. :-p
No, the movie has almost nothing to do with any religious theme. The movie is based on a trilogy of books, and in the last book, there is a fake "god" (who is really an angel who lied and tricked everyone into believing he's actually god when he's not) who dies after the main protagonists defeat the evil forces operating under him.
And yeah, Jesus is not a character in the books, nor is there an allegory to Jesus in the books.

It's a fictional story about a good group and a bad group and they fight each other. If you want to put a religious connection to it you'll find it. but you could do that with almost any movie.

The book its based on does end with the killing of Jesus by some characters but thats the end of a 3 series novel so I doubt this movie will end like that maybe if they get enough viewers they will make the other two parts but eventully thats what it comes to. I personally wont be watching the movie tho.
The name of the novel its based on is "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman ( last name might not be spelled right)

Remember it's a story about an alternate Earth and them finding other alternate Earths. It's not about here.
