That depends on what genre of games you like. I like action/adventure, RPGs, action/platformers, and racing. I'll list a few of my faves. Some of them are M rated, so I'll mark the Mature ones in case you are under 17.
Action or action/adventure:
God of War 1 & 2 (M)
Devil May Cry 3 (M)
Shadow of the Colossus
Resident Evil 4 (M)
RPGs:
Final Fantasy X and XII
Dragon Quest VIII
Dark Cloud 2
Star Ocean - Till the End of Time
Action/platformer:
Ratchet and Clank series (they are all good)
Racing:
ATV Offroad Fury 3 and 4
MX Unleashed
MX vs ATV Unleashed

Dance Dance Revolution
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

dont get a ps2 the games out now are all you will be able to play cuz ps3 is out

I have Guitar Hero Rock the 80's on my PS2 and it has good songs and i play it none stop so i would say get that
