You can buy a cheap MINI-HUB and just plug the two Ethernet cables into two of its ports. The mini hubs go for about 10 bucks and typically have 4 ports so you can plug-together four separate Ethernet cables.

Yes, Staples or Radio Shack or any other reputable electronic/computer retailer. There may still be two types out there, one is a less expensive connector for data and the other and proper one is for networking. the lesser one flops the wires and will not work in a network.
