I have had upper abdominal pain and have lost 47 pounds in 3 months without wanting to lose weight. I am not dieting. I have had labwork and a CAT of the abdomen done. All tests were okay and the CAT scan did not show anything. The only thing abnormal was my red and white blood cells are low. The hematologist did not hionk I have cancer after doing a bone marrow biopsy. I am in pain and the doctors don't know what to do. Please help. If I continue to lose weight this quickly I am going to get weaker. What can be causing this?

I would try to see another doctor and start searching online. Unfortunately, not all doctors are aware of everything that is out there, so it may be just you finding a doctor that knows what test to do. Keep trying to find answers!

There are several things one that comes to mind is LEUKEMIA, CHRONIC MYELOGENOUS, which can only be detected by both the BCR-ABL translocation and the Philadelphia chromosome can be detected with special tests performed on the blood or bone marrow. If I were you I would consult an Oncologist and explain the symptoms to them. It may be cancer or possibly something easily treated. I wouldn't wait to find out.

They checked for diabetes too? Our manager at work lost 60 pounds in 2 months, he thought he had cancer but it was diabetes.
