Let him take her to court. He has NO way of winning that for one thing, and he sounds like the type who was only scamming her in the first place. My guess is that he's only threatening to take her to court in the hopes that she'll just hand him what he wants. If she tells him to jump in a lake, he'll probably just leave because he never intended to spend his money in court, trying to sue her for anything. He just wanted to scare her into handing it to him.

if your friend winds up in court, the judge will ask him how he knows your friend took these things? What is his proof? Where is the evidence?
Ask your friend right now to write down who else was in his place when she was there durring those 2 weeks who may have removed his personal belongings.
I think a judge would laugh him out of the courtroom, unless the clothing was bought under the condition that it was a loan and she was to pay him back, in which case where is the signed agreement? it would be considered a gift. The judge will ask the total sum for the tv... and she will probably have the option of returning the tv then paying the 12.50 that it probably cost.
Again, your friend should not be held accountable because this guy is careless with his belongings.
Get your friend to make that list, was there a party at his house? A small get together, did she bring a friend with her one day to pick up some stuff... anything like that will help protect her against his acusations. But if he didnt see it, and other people besides her were there, he cant accuse her.
Let him take her to court, i guarntee any self respecting judge would toss the whole thing out

I wouldn't tell them right away since you guys have only been dating a week. Since you will be 17 in less then two weeks, I don't see anything wrong with it. Since he is the first guy you've ever dated...just take it slow..He already said he would, so just try to relax and have a good time. You are probably bi...your parents shouldn't throw your sexuality in your face. You are who you are. There is nothing you can do to change the way you feel. I wish you all the luck in the world!

let her fight it in court the judge is not going to agree with him because she never asked for those gifts he gave it to her so he can't say oh i need this much money cause i bought her a tv cause she never asked for it. The money and things that were stolen he can't prove that cause he doesn't have evidence that she took it he has to have evidence otherwise the judge won't do anything. The guy probably didn't want to take her to court because he fiqured she will just pay him instead of fight it. He was probably hoping that she will be scared to go to court so she would just give him what he wants

Sounds like a good case for Judge Judy, Judge Hatchet , etc. If he's suing her it will go to small claims court.

ask if he can prove any of it and dont let him give you the "it was there now its gone" crap ask him to bring out reciepts and all to prove he bought it stuff like that...if not theres not much i can say really... if he threatens to make a court case out of this consult a lawyer a public one.
hope this helps even a tiny bit

Go to court. Guy sounds like a dumb a s s. He won't get any money from her. If he's not lying, your friend is a thief and should get locked up.

She needs to go see an attorney NOW. She should not wait a single minute. He sounds like a scam artist. I see this all the time (although it is usually women that are the scammers). She might also consider hiring a private investigator.
