Well I am 13 and I chose what image I want to be and it sort of represents me, a rocker who loves music, sort of free sprited and outside the box if you will.
So it just represents me, doesn't necessarily look like me, but its what represents me. I hate those slutty avatars though, their meaningless. But I guess it depends on the teen what their avatar represents.
People can debate this all day and you'll never get a correct answer, except for everyone is different, and so are their avatars.

When I chose my avatar I meant it to look like the clown that the kids SHOULD be enjoying instead of being on ther internet at an adult site.

Hey, I'm going with "Easter 2008 has been cancelled." We're not baby-sitters...they have parents and they should be monitoring their kids and what sites they visit etc...

Um, maybe instead of putting blame on people and their avatars, put some blame on the PARENTS who aren't monitoring what their kids are doing on the computer??? Now that's a GRAND concept don't you think?

I am not those kids parents.
If they are bad parents and pay no attention to what their little hellions are doing, I see no reason why I have to do it for free.
I KNOW what my own children are looking at, I shouldn't have to take care of what YOUR kids are looking at, too!!!!!

Primarily it is to cover your identity for obvious reasons.Or it may be just a wish-fulfillment. I would rather like the Chromwellian dictum 'Paint me as I am' This assuming avtar has gone to ludicrous extent. I have come across poets who assume an avtar and show it against their name.
