The tree!! Sadly, my son has such a severe allergy to evergreen that I may never experience it the same way.
Luckily for us, a wonderful co worker gave us a lovely fake tree that has no scent.
I am trying hard to replace the scent of evergreen with cinnamon as a holiday tradition.

The smell of the tree. That does it for me, can transport me back to happier times when I was little and my grandfather was alive. He wore Old Spice, so if I smell that, I do think of him too.
