Is there anything we can do to decrease the violence against aboriginal women?
Estimated to be FIVE TIMES higher than violence against the rest of us.

Put a gun in each of their hands and tell them to circle up and guard their fort. If a man breaches the perimeter, shoot him and ask questions later. Am not so certain it is all aboriginal men, some of course. Universality for women out reach of women for women is certainly needed.

I believe that we have to conduct value reorientation. To show to them that these people deserve respect just as any other races deserve the respect
.
To inculcate to these violators that human discrimination is indeed a human rights violation.

Remove alcohol from the equation. Give greater powers to the 'aunties" and the elders to bring the men back into line. ensure there is meaningful work available for the men in the remote areas. Give greater support to any who choose to leave and have a safe place for them to go to. These all sound great but I'm not really the person who should be answering this. It is a difficult question and one that has its solution within the aboriginal people themselves. there are many aboriginal men who are not violent, and they are the ones we should ask.
