It looks JUST like it did when it left the MINT !!

I obviously comes from the realm of coin collecting, and has spread across the world to indicate ANYTHING that looks BRAND NEW.

The term came about as a reference to coins being shiny and new when they were first minted. It later became a term for anything that looked shiny and new.
