Wade-So you're saying it's OK for the Govt. to search your bank records, listen to your phone conversations, enter your house without a warrant. That's what it's come to.

redrum7-I'm well aware of the Federal Law, the $10,000 dollar deal which had absolutely nothing to do with my question. And what if explosives, etc. were in those drums? Just listening to Chertoff.

America is becoming a police state if it hasn't already. Torturing and holding of "SUSPECT" terrorists for 5 years without charge is a good example. If these retards have their way, they would like every one to wear a collar with GPS. video recorder and sound detector in order to catch terrorists.

I wasn't aware that the President and Vice President were searching bank records.
Thanks for the phony information.

Just thought you might like to know: It's a Federal Law [passed by Coungress] that the Banks must report withdrawals of $10,000 to the Government.
By the way that law is about 40 yrs. old!

It's cheaper than searching a cargo cantainer.

Good answer Wade!!!! Now why is it that the 911 commision felt that the money trail was of no importance to the plot. They traced 95% of the put options on 9/6 on united to one name then redacted that name in the report. They said no need to foolow up on it since he was not tied to Al Quieda.

Searching bank accounts is part of the Israel defense fund; searching cargo containers is part of USA defense fund. It's unlikely but history may show who's their true employer.

Everything involves money. You want to catch the criminal, just follow the money and it'll lead you to him. Still no excuse for lacking in search of other areas, but it still a very important investigative tool.

Its easier to search bank records than search cargo containers.

Most likely any terrorist attack we have on America will not be with a nuclear weapon. It will most likely be some other form, similar to 9/11. Searching the bank records of suspected terrorists can provide extremely important info and help us locate an entire network or "cell" of terrorists. We can really hit them where it hurts, in their check books. Without money they cannot carry out their attacks, train new terrorists, spread propaganda, fund their general operations.
