You mean it DOES run?!? Well, in this case catch the moment to check RPM before the spark plugs start flying through the hood. Lovely sight available predominantly on 4.6 and 5.4 fords. In P/N it should be 7-800, in D - 5-600.

It depends on the vehicle and year for the exact idle rpm. However, as a general rule, most V8 engines idle (in park or neutral) at around 700-750 rpm.

I don't know what re stands for but if its a gas motor it should be 1000 rpm.
