I am basing my comments on his acting ability and not his looks like some of the other posters will obviously do...
My first choice has to be titanic for the simple reason, when he made it he was still a relatively unknown actor to everyone except teenage girls and that played well for the role. Also Leonardo tends to over act many of his roles, crying to much, yelling to much etc etc. But for the role of Jack, those things worked well for him because it made you feel that awkwardness his charter must have felt being around all those rich, snobbish people.
Another great role for him was in the movie "Catch me if you Can" Again, his quarks played well with the movie.
Surprisingly alot of people think he was good in "Gangs of New York" but personally I thought that was a terrible movie with very poor acting/directing etc.
That's not to say I am not a fan, in fact I am a fan and I think he is a decent actor. The last few years he has done alot better movies now that he is getting a little older. The departed and aviator are two good example of his acting ability.

FYI: i am basing this answer on Leo's outstanding performances, not the movies themselves, although they are both amazing and definitely worth seeing.
The Basketball Diaries (also has Mark Wahlberg)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape (lead role played by a super hot Johnny Depp, and Leo was nominated for best supporting actor for that performance-- his only nomination until The Departed and Blood Diamond, which was around ten years later)

I actually think that every movie he's in, he does a good job. I think he's a very talented actor! However I looooved him in Titanic. Although I haven't seen The Departed or Blood Diamond, I know people that have, and the way they talked about it makes me beleieve that those two are up there on his greatest performances.

Titanic. Great movie! That was the first movie where I actually noticed him. Never cared for him before that.
After that I saw Romeo and Juliet. It was a smash!
The last one I saw was him playing the famous aviater. Most of Leo's movies are really good.
