Probably a lot, I haven't seen approval polls for Bush or America coming out of Iraq. Consider that for many Shiites, who are the majority, were persecuted and held to a lower class under Saddam. That restriction has been removed, and I'm sure lots of them appreciate it. More recently local neighborhoods are turning against insurgents and Al Qaeda and looking to America for help, because America will defend them and remove the bad guys, whereas the others will blow them up in the marketplace just so it makes the nightly news, ruining support to continue the war.

vs. how many has he splattered?

Excellent question. 650,000 civilians dead in Iraq. Two million more displaced from their homes. His rhetoric for attacking Iran and Syria have not won many hearts or minds there either.

George H. W. Bush was actually pretty good at foreign relations. He was a highly skilled and accomplished diplomat. Too bad the son inherited none of his talents.

Well it can't be very many. Most hearts and minds in the Middle East have been blown up whether they be civilians or our own countrymen sent to their death in a war for political gain.

At least the ones on the take. But it's about security, so if we keep paying we'll have security. But, since we're running out of money...

In Vietnam, it was called pacification, but it too never worked. The Marines had a solution though, they were reported to say, "Grab them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow !"

You need to worry less about what everyone else thinks and more about right and wrong. That is a lesson you are supposed to learn as a child.
