ok, im super shy, and im in 8th grade. and this year i made a friend named kate, and yesterday she told me this, "Lexi, wen i first met u i thot u were a stuck up brat, because u were so shy, u kno" and i didnt like that she thought this. it made me feel bad. So, my question is, When i meet new people or friends, how can i act friendly and fun and get them to like me right away? i dont want people to think i am stuck up or anything.
Plz dont say Be yourself, cuz being myself is SHY and i dont like that. Plz tell me some things that wud help. thanx.

Don't be afraid to speak up. Just because you need to be more outgoing doesn't mean you have to push your boundaries, however.
Start with something small. People love compliments, for example. Tell someone you like their purse or shoes. If they say thanks, tell them why. You could follow the convo with something like, "Yeah. Pink is my fav color."
You can be outgoing without being uncomfortable.
