The reward is YOURS, not theirs.
The reward is endurance, experience and some aspects of patience as you learn to turn away a bitter attack with peace, grace and kindness.
The reward is yours - and you will see it when you are given your treasure in Heaven.
There will be peace.

A lot of the questions asked come across as offensive, because they are meant to be offensive. So when a serious, but controversial question is asked many of us go on the defense and retort to the offense, because we understand the question to be something that our adversary would ask as an attack on our beliefs - however this is a misunderstanding - which is one of the largest reasons for ridicule, so in order to understand those rude individuals, its important to know there may be a misunderstanding.
The reward for such lewd behavior would be the satisfaction of providing a quick and clever response or rebuttal.

Pastor Art: you are such a blooming hypocrite!!!!!! you know the words but you don't practice it yourself. you are high on my list of idiots on this site who use absolute crap as an argument and personal attacks instead of answering catholic questions. Extremely unbecoming a man of your calling. may i suggest if you don't know the answer then don't reply to the question? not that you will give 2 cents about my suggestion but how about being a little more christian in your attitude. you are not a christian sir...you are an idiot
To answer the question:
i agree with wolfblades answer. may i also add that my definition of "idiot" are those who deliberately answer or use a question to offend. their purpose is not to understand anothers point of view but for their own personal entertainment. people of all beliefs are guity of this - myself included at times - however i do endeavour to aplogise to people i have called an idiot if they lead me to understand that their question/answer was not intended to offend.
encourager4God: the majority who are guilty of ridicule also claim to be believers of the Lord. dont be so pathetic as to lump this on atheist and non-christians...thats exactly the kind of high and mighty attitude that others may find offensive here on R&S. i am christian and i am highly offended by christians who tell me what i believe in as a catholic.

We all have people who, for whatever reason, dislike us. Maybe it's because we're Christian, or we may dabble in poetry, or be black, or white, or maybe for no reason at all. Personally, if I dislike someone I leave them alone and I would bet that you do as well. I avoid them. I don't waste my time or theirs. On the other hand maybe, just maybe, those who are disliked the most have no other way of being disliked except to malign others. Negative attention is their reward for it's the only attention they get.

There is no reward for such behaviour.
There is, however, reward(albeit moral) in the response to such behaviour.

No, it's all done for free by people who use the anonymity of the Internet to say things that they wouldn't dare say in real life for fear of getting their lights punched out. Ridicule and rudeness are apparently their own rewards.
Ain't cowardice grand?

Overt ridicule is very different than good clean Holy Ghost fun. The motives of the heart are different. Pray for those that are held hostage by the spirits of unbelief and mockery. I bind them now in the Name of Jesus.

I do not understand ridicule as the only reward I have ever received from it is guilt!
Peace.

Let's see what Jesus said about that type of thing:
35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
