If you can remove the lower broiler or pots and pans drawer, whichever you have, turn the oven control to bake and turn up the thermostat to about 350, then watch the igniter under the oven pan. If it doesn't glo at all, then it's diffenitely broken, if it does glo, but has a really bright spot at one point in the element, then odds are it's cracked. In either event, most times it will be this glo igniter that's at fault. It has to heat to a certain temp to allow a certain voltage to pass thru the ceramic element and get to the gas safety valve at the lower rear of the range. Once that valve receives the proper voltage it opens and allows gas into the burner, which ignites when it hits the glowing element.

Well you posted this two days ago so unless you got it unlocked the bird is well done. I did this onetime and this is how I got my oven unlocked. On your stove top the burners lifts up and has a rod to prop it up so that you can clean the drip pan underneath. Lift this up and prop it up. Now you have to remove all the screws along the edge of the entire drip pan underneath the burners and remove it. When you remove the drip pan the locking mechanism is right there in plain view. You'll have to play with it and unlock the latch. This was the only way I was able to get my oven open. The "lock" is easily confused as something that prevents a child from opening the oven door. Actually it's for a self cleaning oven. The only time it unlocks by itself is by turning the oven up on high for several hours till everything on the bottom of the oven is burned off. The "lock" is actually temperature controlled. :-)~
