People should stop condemning rednecks and taking are culture and making it a joke. I was born into the redneck culture. If you ever made friends with a redneck a real one not some fat *** that likes fart jokes. You would learn that we care about the land. we can grow our own food fix our own cars build our own houses. Our culture revolves around farming, hunting, fishing, family and love. Also the rebel flag does not represent hate for blacks. It represents redneck culture. The word redneck came because of our necks who knew look at a southern farmers neck it aint white like a cityboy baby its red. My necks red and so is my blood. Is this what you say my culture is?

Couple things...
1. Just because you are born into something doesn't mean it is who you are. I was born into middle income white trash, but it doesn't mean that's what I want to stay. Plus, I don't associate hunting, camping, farming as something "red neck." I'd call that a country person / country bumpkin. Red neck to me is a more demeaning word that is similar to "hick."
2. Rebel flag is nothing but a symbol of ignorance. If I see one, then I do judge (which I know is bad...) and say "dumb red neck." Rebel flag = hick. See 1 for further comparison.
3. You want "acceptance" yet you say things such as "cityboy baby"? LOL love it when someone wants acceptance yet is just as or even more prejudice / judging in the first place.
4. Now if you were a smart, hard working, country living person, I'd simply say that you're a country kid. But flying the CSA Rebel Flag and judging people to me only says you're ignorant and don't really understand much. My dear sir, you are a red neck - but I don't know if I'd be proud of that....

Think about your whole story the next time you say the "N" word or make a black joke and the next time you complain about Mexicans b/c these two races are also hardworking and loving people.

The one thing parents usually look forward to is having their child rise above their circumstance. If one doesn't make an attempt to improve their life then they never grown and ignorance is usually the only thing they understand, have you ever heard, "because we've always done it that way."
