I too am a descendant just traced my fathers grandfather who was james stewart born 1777 when my fathers grandfather john stuart was born all his brother and sisters born after him the spelling now changed back to stewart then the next bunch of his kids some were stuart and some stewart odd. I got this far back don't think I can fill in the gap without Mary's tree after her thru to 1777. we have just started a closed group stuart family geneology. I know some were in texas too

Yes, I am I DIRECT descendent of her, my family has this book about her and her family tree. After Mary was executed family members fled to Ireland and then to America and changed their name from Stuart to Stewart. After that they lived in the south and owned a plantation. Later on they released their slaves but the slaves took revenge and poison the mother and father, the kids escaped and split up across the country.

There is a book call "Sampson Stewart, His Royal Ancestors and Some of His Descendants" A Genealogical and Biographical Reference Book, written by Sidney Wright Blount. I believe her book was published in 1961. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Sampson Stewart. Some of the libraries have a copy of this book in their genealogy section. I believe I am 8 in the line of descendants of Sampson Stewart. According to the cover jacket of the book, it also has the certified pedigree. I hope this works for you. I have tried for some time to purchase this book. Sidney lived in Altus, OK.

I, too, am a descendant of Mary queen of Scots. Since my mother passed, some 30 years ago, we have been trying to discover how our heritage leads to her.
