stealing, public nudity, marijuana use, and underage drinking. Not all of them, just one charge maybe, and not even a big one. Like say you stole a 20 dollar item, or got caught smoking pot once. Would they just think you were a kid then, but now you know better. Or will they completely reject you for it?

It depends on the job you're applying for and how long the offense was. Secondly, if you are applying for financial aid and you have a drug conviction you will be ineligible for financial aid.

Well, public nudity always worked in a female candidate's favor but that's just me.

Depends on the job. In my case I was working for an INS subcontractor. Anyone with a criminal record was not to be considered for certain positions. Anyone with excessive credit card debt ($30-50K) were not to be considered.

If you do have a juvenile record make the effort to insure that it is sealed.

Your juvenile record is generally closed and no one will see any part of it.

As to adult records, it depends on the job, the company, and the crime. Felony charges will take away the chance of getting a job in some companies.

If you are looking to work at a pre-school, and have some felony conviction involving moral turpitude or child molest, chances are they won't hire you.

Best bet, ask up front. Why waste your time if they won't hire you anyway?

It depends on how you write your essay. If you bring it up and explain how it affected your life and made you turn your life around and you want to go to college to be a better person and be a productive member of society, it really may work. I knew kids who were accepted to a very respected college who had more than their fair share of indiscretions. They also ended up being the best students. It's totally possible to get in a good school with minor offenses.

First off, most juvenille crimes are not public so you shouldn't have to worry about that.
IF THEY DO find out, it depends on the type of job.
But honestly, if you are even applying for a job as a police officer, as long as you are HONEST, you should be ok. They will take a lie detector test ----- if you do, just be honest.

Colleges don't really look at that stuff unless you tell them about it. Wait until after your 18 to get a job and they won't see it either, unless you join the military in which case you can still probably get in.

It depends on the school and/or employer. I think that schools will be a lot less tolerant of that behavior and some employers may be a little more tolerant.
