You make a good point about Hallowe'en and Christmas. You should *at least* be allowed to say Merry Christmas *and* Happy Holidays in a situation like that. I mean, there are other holidays at the same time but it doesn't mean you can't acknowledge the one you celebrate. Unfortunately corporate America is trying to erase the true meaning in pursuit of the all mighty dollar. *OOPS* sorry, got a bit preachy there.

My thoughts are that Political Correctness has gotten completely out of control.
I say if it is only a minority that does not accept something, then they must adjust. This country was based upon the majority rules.
I, for one, continue to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. If they say they do not subscribe to that or do not celbrate Christmas, then I apologize to them.
I hope everyone who reads this has a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous, Happy and Healthy 2008.

I agree. It's all stupid. America is a free country, and the nuts that actually are offended by "Merry Christmas" are losers that need to get real lives. They're not going to stop me from steppin' outside and yellin' "Have a Hell of a Merry Christmas, and a Dam Happy new year as well!" And we have every right to do so, regardless or what Alberson's wants.
And, anyway, I'm a Christian and no one but God can stop me from celebrating Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

It is so awful when Companies bow to the pressures of the liberals and change tradition just because a few people are bothered by it. Just say Happy Holidays at work and then when you are off work, say Merry Christmas to one and all...even the liberals who are idiots for thinking this way.

You work for some really stupid people.Your company sales will suffer because of this.Your company's not wanting to offend someone is childish.Any company that has this policy will not see any of my shopping money. This is the same type of bull that best buy uses. They have lost big the last three years of the christmas shopping season.Any store that does not display and use the words MERRY CHRISTMAS should loose big time. All the best.

I so agree. My mom hates those kind of people who don't let their employees say "Merry Christmas" because "not everyone celebrates it". But, Christmas IS a federal holiday so you should be able to say it. Macy's doesn't let you say Merry Christmas, also.
I agree with you on the Hallowen and Christmas thing too. =]

I do think that we should be able to say merry christmas on december 5th because it has been a holiday for hundreds of years.... just because someone doesn't believe in christmas shouldn't change that.... because eventually the holiday would be ruled out all together! if people are bothered by it, they should just ignore it.

there are other holidays, so yeah. it's probably more polite to say happy holidays, so it doesn't feel like you're totally anti- everything else. but yeah. i'm used to merry christmas though. i don't think i've said happy holidays yet....

sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. what is the punishment if you do say it? cut in pay? fired? sent to the principal's office? it's PC, and it's also BS. sounds like Albertson's is just asking to be sued.
