"is set in" or "was set in" when writing the date or location?

the movie is set in i think (as movie still exists)... I got an A in media studies and that's what I would put :)

That's a good question. The movie was made in the past, so that would suggest "was" but it still is, so that would suggest present tense.

Just my own thoughts, but I'd say as long as you keep the tenses consistent, either one would be ok.

"was set in" since the movie has already been produced there and is now finished.

Maybe it would be easier to write "the film took place in"

I think the "was set in" would be more appropriate, sense you slready read it. =]

so are you talking about now or before
