I am supposed to take the formation of methanol from carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas:
CO(g) + 2H2(g) => CH3OH(l)
and then I am supposed to find how much heat is released when 15.0 L of CO(g) at 358.15 K and 1.11 atm react with 18.5 L of hydrogen gas at 348.15 K and 0.90 atm? I have to express your answer in kJ. There is a (Hint: The heat released refers to the absolute energy released into the surroundings. This is a positive number when the reaction is exothermic). Any ideas on how to do this? I am so confused!

I think that you need the heat of the reaction of CO(g) with 2H2(g) to get CH4O(l). The value is good for CO and H2 at STP. You don't have that yet.
