If you only play sports games, any PS3 hard drive size should be enough.

The PS3 is a media center too. The smaller standard hard drives (20GB and now 40GB) hold more than enough to load and save games. You won't fill it up unless you start saving downloaded movies and large media files.

Even then, it is easy to add storage to it. It has USB connections so you can use removable media like flash or USB hard drives and the HDD is a standard notebook drive that can be easily replaced should you ever need to.

Nah 40 Gig is perfectly fine.

Though they will eventually make you start buying another harddrive.

That is why I got the 80 gig. But nah...you should be ok until you run out of space. Just don't put junk on there.
