Why do people believe that violent crime is worse than ever when in fact the rate is near a 30-year low?

Why do they worry about terrorism when they are more likely to die from lightening strikes?

Why do the mass-media spoon-feed horrific tales of violence to their audiences?

Why do we seldom hear about traffic fatalities though they claim about fifty THOUSAND Americans' lives annually?

Why do people complain when they have to obey a speeding law but never flinch when their basic civil rights are infringed?

Why am I ranting?

What's the use?
