The Simpson is actually better than South Park and better than Family Guy and Better then Drown Together and Better than American Dad because they don't use awful language like these show i mention above. so it's Okay for a 12 year and under to watch The Simpson's.

The humor of the Simpson's is some of the best satire one will ever experience. Children under 12 however will not get this sophisticated messages but like the cartoon aspect.
Some parents are afraid and maybe rightfully so, there kids will imitate some of the things they see on the show.
Be very wary of any adult however,that says it's dumb. It has to be because they don't understand the satire.

This is one thing me and my now ex husband had a difference of opinion on.
I feel there are a lot more things on the kiddy channels I would rather them not see then on any Simpson's show.
My now ex felt that a show like Simpson's was going to make the kids do things they would see on the show.
I gave in of course for I felt it was not worth fighting over. But when the divorce was over the kids got to watch Simpson's with there mom.

not to be offensive, but the simpsons isn't even funny. when i was under 12 i didnt even feel like watching it. DON'T let a kid under 12 watch family guy though, cuz thats got some pretty bad stuff in it. to answer your question: i guess its ok for them to watch it only reason other peole dont let them watch it is probably cuz theyre over-protective parents.

Not a parent, but my parents let me watch it when I was 6 or so. If someone won't let their kids watch the Simpson's, they shouldn't let their kids watch the news.

I've honestly never watched the Simpsons and I have no desire to. I would preview it before deciding whether to let my children watch it or not.
