Hi!! Hubby and I have been ttc for 17 months and still have conceived yet. How long did you try before getting that BFP? If it took you longer than a year, did you get pregnant naturally or did you need medical intervention? We may see a specialist in the new year. We have been seeing my ob/gyn but are kind of on a break from all of the ttc stuff (charting, clomid, opk's, etc) for a few months. Just curious as to if it is ok to be taking this long. Thanks for the answers.

We are both 25. Hubby had a sperm analysis done and it was all ok. My doctor believes that we may just have poor timing and I may not be ovulating each cycle. We are also trying not to stress.

Well, I was told that I would never have any biological children when I was a teenager because I suffered from a severe uterine infection. My other two kids are biologically my husband's, but I've adopted them (their mom died when she was giving birth to my daughter). We've been married for over 3 years, have sex on a somewhat regular basis, and never worried about protection because I've never been worried about conceiving. We never saw a fertility specialist or anything.

Well, when I was about 8 weeks along, and puking my guts out, I went to the doctor and found out I was pregnant. My doctor put me on bedrest because they were pretty positive I'd miscarry because of how scarred my uterus is. I stayed on bedrest until I was 13 1/2 weeks, and have had no problems whatsoever.

I guess its just one of those things, if its meant to happen, it will! I'm now 20 weeks along with a little girl!

I wasn't seeking to have a little one at the time that I obtained pregnant, however I wasn't doing a lot to discontinue it from going down (pull out approach doesn't work at all!!) and i ended taking delivery manage after being on it for 5 years in October 2006 and that i found out I used to be pregnant October 2007. I do not know if it had to do with having been on the birth manipulate, or the fact that I used to be with anybody new.. But both means it goes I acquired pregnant precisely a year after i ended taking it.

My DH and I start TTC in October with out charting, and I noticed in November when I was charting that I just missed my OV date in October. But November was our lucky month, I got my BFP at 15 dpo; I am now 5 weeks 4 days pregnant. It only took us 2 month to conceive our first. Now I just want to get past the first trimester, it makes me so nervous. I'm always afraid something could go wrong since the first trimester is the most delicate time for a developing baby.

How old are both of you?

If you are under 35, you should see a specialist if it takes you longer than 1 year. If you are over 35 you should see a speacilist if it takes you longer than 6 months. The age applies to the woman.

I have a uterine malformation, but i got pregnant from the 1st try , but who knows how succesful that will be in the end.

I went off the pill in Sept. We didn't really try in Oct, we just weren't using anything. Then in November I figured out when the best times for sex were based on ovulation and I just found out we're pregnant this week! So I guess it took 2 months to get pregnant since I went off the pill, but just one month where we were actually paying attention to ovulation times, etc. Good luck to you!

He never wore protection and we had sex almost everyday or more and he always went in me and it took us 5 months. I am now 21 weeks pregnant and we have been together for 9 months and we are happy as can be.

It took about 4 cycles for me to get pregnant after coming off the pill. This will be my first baby. But I was worried that it would take me longer because my aunt couldn't have kids. I really think it's a good idea that you talk to your Dr (or fertility specialist) more about it. Best of luck to you!

I had been on the depo shot for almost 4 years and once i stopped taking it i became pregnant 11 months later.
The second time i got pregnant was when we had sex during my period (1 time) but i miscarried. That was the only time that we did not use anything.

It took hubby and I seven months, and six cycles of Clomid to conceive. After the third cycle, we almost took a break from clomid, because af rearing her ugly head after my third cycle was heart breaking and we weren't sure if going through that much stress was worth it. I discussed it with my OBGYN, and he said a break is totally up to me, but that conceiving on a non-clomid cycle will increase my chances of misscarriage, due to my hormone imbalance from PCOS. I took a prescription home for my fourth cycle, and hubby and I decided to follow his directions, and let Clomid run its course. I'm sooooooooo glad that we did because after the sixth cycle of Clomid we conceived!!

I'd definitely get back to your OBGYN in the new year, and at the least try another cycle of Clomid. Its more stressful to be on fetility meds, I know that to true, but sometimes that's the path your life was destined to take. The last cycle or two, I remember feeling like it was almost becomming more about not being infertile, and less about conceiving our first child.

Good luck, and I hope you get your Christmas miracle!!!!!
