I would like to start off by saying F*ck 2pac, he's overrated, and had as many offensive songs as he did uplifting ones. With that being said....

they beastie boys have some good stuff
and the stuff I've heard from NWA is pretty sick, but I don't know much else. It seems to me that old school hip-hop kicks this new **** anyday.
