Getting old is odd at first, because you are in denial it is happening. Then you start to fight it a little. Then you look around and you start to really see what is going on. You have ten times more responsibility that you ever have before. You have a mortgage and car payments and insurance payments. You have to worry about having health insurance. BUT, then you realize you are considerably happier now than you were in your twenties. With so much to worry about, you really are happier. You make better decisions and you have so much more life experience. I would never have believed it , but staying in with my husband and dog watching pay per view and eating casseroles blows going clubbing away. When I was young, I can remember putting so much time into a New Years Eve outfit, now we are both usually asleep before the ball drops. There is peace, quiet, and lots of fun (and you always have a really good chance to get laid).

i know who i am.

i know situations i should avoid.

i know how i will react to most things.

it's really about getting familiar and comfortable with who you are.

i'm 30 now and looking back at my teens and early 20's - that time sucked. there was so much confusion.

i now have a great job, earn great money and care about my health.

enjoyment takes on a different and easier meaning when you get older. enjoyment isn't that "some guy that i met last night texted me" - it's more like "the house is clean and i'm proud of it" - much easier!!!
