I would think that the answer to this would be in the manner in which the parent of that individual prepared scalloped potatoes. If box-made, then most probably no, but if they grew up with home made, then I am sure they not only are aware but probably prefer them.

They DO come out of a box, but of course they aren't a product of the box itself. I think most people realize it's just a form of a homemade food from potatoes commercialized and produced in a factory environs...

I'm just under 30 and I'm scared of the box kind. I had actual worms (little ones) in an older box and now can't eat any kind of pasta from a box.

Yes I am 27 and I know that I only make fresh. The boxed ones are just GROSS! It doesn't even taste like potatoes!

Yes, in fact, I just started using the instant ones. They are really good but nothing beats homemade potatoes.

I'm over 30 but my daughter is 9 and knows that. I think it is more about what your mother did than your age really.

I knew that, and I'm only 14. but then again, I'm top in my class and ask questions about stuff and have a very traditional family. most people probably don't. i can already think of people i know that would say "really?"
