Ahhhhh.....

If 4-6 hours before the game, some chicken, and a little bit of carb, not a lot. Chicken has the highest protein with the lowest amount of fat. Its very easy for your body to digest. Lots of water.

If 3-4 hours, just chicken. None of it deep fried. Lots of water

If 2-3 hours, 1 serving of fruit. Maybe a banana or an apple, maybe with some juice. Keep the water going.

Regarding pasta the night before...

The theory is the carbs and fats from the pasta get converted into fat overnight, which then your body will burn during the day. The catch is, it takes a long period of high exertion to start burning stored body fat. Unless you play 2 - 4 hours of hockey, you are not going to burn any of that fat from your body.

So if you're only playing 1 hour of hockey, its not going to be stored body fat that you'll be burning.

Well, what I've learned is that if you want extended energy, you should start carb loading up to a week before a game, and as for an instant burst, some fruit like oranges or maybe some green tea with honey, because both are loaded with natural sugar which the body needs to create energy.

i agree with the person above, only one point... eat the pasta the night BEFORE the game, and eat a lot.. it takes the body time to turn the carbs into energy

then have something high in protien about an hour or so before the game... chicken, tuna fish, energy bars.. whatever you like, but i would never eat a huge meal before a game

Hmmm...properly it is solid which you have a carb and a protein, yet macaroni and cheese isn't the excellent determination. (yummy nevertheless) with the aid of fact it has a great number of saturated fat in it. i admire the assumption of eating countless carbs earlier a activity nevertheless, it somewhat is unquestionably a solid theory. in line with risk attempt including much less cheese and a splash bit parsely or some form of vegetable. you do no longer want to consume it too quickly earlier a meal for the reason which will sluggish you down, i'm thinking around 40 minutes earlier so it has time to digest. wish I helped and solid success! =)
