Ferrets dont really...run run after anything , maybe after each other...well my ferret ran after a lazer light...kinda fast..i'd say 3mph :P That's a tough question!

For what it's worth, I had mine on a harness with a 10' leash and when he took off scared from something I had to run to keep up. So that's what.... 10 mph? They can move fast but only for short bursts. Their legs are only 3" long.

They are quite happy to walk along with a person walking at about 5 mph
