I'm looking into new forms of birth control and I have been reading about these. I have been on Depo for a while now so I want a change. I know they are basically the same thing but I want to hear what everyone on here thinks about them.
Please give me your opinions

I though Norplant had been taken off the market? I used Norplant for 5 years. Absolutely LOVED it. When it expired and I had it removed they said they were no longer available. I was really bummed. The downside to Norplant is that once it is in they have to cut it out. (This didn't hurt at all...but it did leave a little tiny scar.) Some people have severe reactions to the hormones in it and have to have it removed prematurely. (The people I know who experienced this also had problems with birth control pills...maybe just sensitive to the hormone therapy?) I loved not having to think about birth control a single day for 5 years!! It was so easy and convenient.

i'm currently using implanon. it's the best form of contraception around these days. takes about 5 minutes to insurte a small rod just underneath the skin in your upper arm. lasts 3 whole years. no taking pills everyday at the same time and no remember injections every 3 months either. just get it put in and don't have to worry about anything anymore. then when your 3 years is up, all you have to do is get the rod removed and you can also opt to have another one put it straight away as well. no waiting or anything like that. discuss all this with your doctor as well.
