Yes, you have air trapped in your pipes. The result will sound like a bubbling brook, or even loud bangs. To solve this you need to release the air. Most systems will have release valves directly on the pipes in the highest portion of those parts of the system. Look around and find them. They are usually found at the ends of your pipes. On newer systems they may just look like caps sitting on the pipes. On older systems they may look like cups with lids.

Turn your thermostat up to get the system flowing. Unscrew the caps on these. Inside you will see a small pin-like piece. Take a small object and push down on the pin. You will hear air being released from the pipe. When the air is completely released, hot water will start coming out. You may need to repeat this a couple of times to get all of the air out.
