I need to make a wooden box for my girls birthday its part of her gift it's going to be 5.7 cm x 5.7 cm. I was in wood shop years AGO! and it has to have a lid if someone can give me good website that explains to me what to do just help in any way. Thank you

You needs six pieces of wood cut to size, an electric drill, some screws, some glue, two hinges.
Just whack 'em all together but use a bit of common sense along the way.
It depends how perfect you want the box to look as to how you put everything together. There are different types of joint you can use depending on your preferences but you will need the right tools depending on what you choose.

a box needs 6 sides, 1 bottom,2 sides 2 ends 1 top.
Whats cm? we use inches in the usa.

That's kinda small.
I can only suggest Balsa wood (I'm in the UK and am going back 35 years) ,and using glue.
Sorry for being useless at answering this one...
I used to build exhibition stands for a living and thought I could help.
