In Brooklyn, before cable tv and home computers, sports was all we had. You had a choice: either hang out with the parents or go outside and play basketball in the snow. We played football, baseball, roller hockey (goalie stick - best weapon), stick ball, hand ball, paddle ball, chinese handball, box baseball, "off the turtle". I am a disabled vet, so all I am capable of doing now-a-days is my stationary bike. (Which is still a lot more than a lot of kids. My 16 yr. old nephew's skin is turning green because he is in front of his computer for so many hours a week and doesn't get out.

Swimming, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Skiing, Fencing, Basketball, Springboard Diving, Motorcycling, Bicycling, Racquetball, etc etc etc (Lots actually -- I was a VERY active young woman) ....

and now -- I STILL Swim (although not as fast), I enjoy my Motorcycling and Bicycling, I would Like to start back up with Fencing (but I need to purchase the equipment since it was stolen in a Military Move).

I did learn to Bowl and even took (recently in fact) Beginning Golf Lessons (yes! I can actually hit that little white ball).

Unfortunately -- things like Springboard Diving, Hockey, Ice Skating, and Skiing are impaired (since I've had my feet broken too many times).

So ... as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree, you can see that I am STILL pretty Active .. and I intend it that way -- just transitioned into NEW sports is all!

Track

Football with the guys, no such thing as girls football.
Rodeo~practice with the guys, back then girls did not do anything but run around barrels.

Then hiking, camping, swimming, I was a very active kid.

Sorry to say but one broken bone here and another there, operation here and well....body is a tad bit beat up these days to do anything like sports.

I played volleyball, basketball, and did track and field in high school. Because of an injury, I unfortunatly don't get to play those any more.. now I swim and play tennis for fun.

Softball, basketball, and volleyball. No I don't but would love to take up basketball again, somehow. Watching my niece put the itch for it back into me.
