I came up with an idea of drilling holes on hard steel hair barrette that I got from Crafts store. I tried to drilled with regular drill bit, doesn't even make a dent in it. I tried to drill with diamond drill bit; it broke my diamond drill bit. I tried to use steel nails, bent one of them, made one of the nail tip smooth, etc. I ran out of ideas. Can anyone who specialists in steel give me any ideas please?

I believe it is stainless steel. I did use carbide drill bit - it goes through okay but it keep breaking my drill bit. I only have 1 left. Thanks for both of your answers. Nice suggestion.
