what do you think? i have a really cute houndstooth coat, but i wonder if its too formal for me to wear to school.

I would wear it. I love a great coat no matter what the ocoasion.

I think the current UK system works fine. Four is not too young in my opinion to start going to school... I mean, the majority of them enjoy it. Also, kids are going to have to go from being the eldest in school to the youngest in high school at SOME point, so I don't really see how changing the age to 13 will help. Also, if a primary school went from children age 4 to 13, then there might be to big of an age range within school. In many European countries, although the age to start formal schooling may not be until 6 or 7, the vast majority of children go to a type of infant school from the age of 4, so basically start their education at 4, like in this country. You've raised some good points though.

I think the cut and style would determine if it's appropriate for school, moreso than the fabric. I had a houndstooth coat that was very casual.

As long as it's not really long and too crazy I think you're okay. You don't want to look too busy... hope that helps O.O

i think it depends on wut ur wearing w/ it. 4 example if ur wearing jeans then that would b okay. but if ur wearing somthing like sweats or pj pants dont do it. it'll look ridiculous
