Read the question 3 times. First for content, second for what is asked, third to form your equation based on what is given, keeping in mind math rules.

You need to know the definition of a rectangle and calculating the perimeter. L L W W

15 feet less than means 15 minus something

...twice the width means 2 times as wide as....

Start simple (let x =) just a hint .....then fill in the blanks

Good lesson to learn for practical aplications. I didn't do my kids homework for them. Think you can figure this one out on your own.
