My rabbit is black, with gray fur around his claws. Straight up ears and his on the larger side. He loves to jump around and play. He also loves to lick and cuddle. Although he is curious, he is also on the jumpy side. He is very active when in his cage. Any ides of his breed?

A picture would be helpful. He could be rex based on fur. Try finding some pictures of rabbit breeds and see waht her looks like.

Sounds hes most likely a Mini Rex. The reason I say hes probably a Mini Rex and not a Standard Rex is because the smaller Mini Rexes tend to be alot more hyper and out going than the bigger Standard Rex. I absolutely LOVE the Mini Rexes. Out of all the breeds I've raised they are my favorite because they are the perfect size, they are a very hearty breed that is easy to raise with an even temperament that makes them a good choice as pets for children when a larger breed like a New Zealand is too big and a Netherland Dwarf is to high strung, they come in a wide variety of recognized colors, and of course they have that amazingly soft Rex fur!
Here are some more links about Mini Rexes and other rabbit breeds:

The grey fur around his claws is normal for a black rabbit. Perhaps he's a Havana. I seriously doubt he's a dutch. I've never seen a solid black Dutch in my life.
Try looking for a rabbit that has the same body type (body shape, head, ears) and weight range as yours on the ARBA website. Click on the breed photos to go to that breed's national breed club website to learn more about each breed. Remember that many breeds come in black but some never come in solid black.
Just going by your description alone, the Havana immediately pops into my mind - solid black, grey, or chocolate (not a recognized color yet). medium sized rabbit, sleek fur, with upright ears.
If your rabbit is a Rex (or more likely a Mini Rex) his fur will stand on end (not grow toward his tail). You know? Be dense and grow straight out away from the body. Have fun with the detective work.

Dutch rabbits will usually have a lot of white on them. One sure way of knowing if he is a rex or a rex mix is his whiskers. Rex rabbits have curly whiskers. There is also a breed called a New Zealand, and they can be black. They are usually good sized rabbits, a little bigger than dutches or rexes, 10lbs or so.

It sounds as though he is a Mini Rex or Rex.
Rex fur is short, plush, and very, VERY soft.
