Reasons abortions are good?

Here is my list why abortions are a good thing
1. Too many people in the world, by 2050 population expected to be 12 billion, how is the planet going to support and feed all these people
2. The rate of teen pregnancy is up - new study finds it has incresed for the first time since the 70's
3 same study found and increase in unwed/single mothers
4. A majority of children from #2 and 3 end up on welfare and lack of finances is a major reson for abortions. So the hypocracy comes when so many republicans are against tax increases and against social programs yet want all these welfare babies.
5. Babies from foster homes and welfare families are less likely to go to college and more likely to end up criminals
6. Having said #5 why not just kill them befor they are born instead of killing after they grow up and committ crimes

I suppose we could just provide more education on safe sex and birth control but the only problem is that most republicans are against that too

You're right--many republicans refuse to teach our children in the classrooms about how to use contraceptives! Bush's abstinence-only sex education resulted in an increase of teenage pregnancies!

I think that to lower abortion rates we must:
1. Provide affordable contraceptives
2. Provide our children a good safe sex education at school
3. Provide more government assistance for teenage mothers

The problem with the anti-abortion people is that they only care if the fetus is being born but they don't care about it after its born. They usually don't support any government funding to these mothers.

1--the teen pregnancy rate is down this decade for the first time in a long time.
2--Abortions don't actually reduce the population that much. Good and affordable family planning does affect total populations in a way that is useful. Abortions are not viable in much of the world--condoms and other forms of birth control are.
3--the very people who might get abortions (teens, etc.) are not getting...the predominant group is middle-age women (in the US).

That is a third trimester pregnancy, and about 1% of all abortions in in the third trimester (and are either to save the life of the mother or to end a pregnancy where the fetus is exceptionally deformed), so please do not overdramatize. Most are late in the first and at the beginning of the second trimester.

I agree that the world is becoming over populated, but you handle this with education and prevent pregnancy in the first place, you don't just kill off the children because the world doesn't need "extra".

Teen pregnancy can be helped through education as well. How is killing children going to help with lowering teen pregnancy? If anything, it will go through the roof because of lessened consequence. The same goes for single and unwed mothers.

I think your question shows a disregard for human life, especially in #6. Killing children is not the way to get our culture to behave responsibly and with accountability. Furthermore, I would much rather let these children grow up to decide for themselves if they want to be a criminal or on welfare. The idea of killing them for the sake of saving time and money makes me nauseous

I was preg at 16 I never even thought about abortion, in those days you were told naughty girls had abortion, the values change.I have a wonderful adult son and 2 fantastic grandsons.I'm so happy I didn't go there as I look into my grandchildren eyes. My daughter got preg while on the pill, she got antibiotics as she was ill, certain antibiotics counteract the pill, I have a beautiful grand daughter. Yet I can understand if a girl is raped. I don't like abortion but I think it is an individual choice, I understand people are against it, but it is still that woman's choice.People have free will.

i only had one child on welfare and no more after that on purpose, i never committed any crime, i was a welfare child myself, and my son hasn't committed any either and he DOES go to college even though he is struggling with a spinal disease caused by poverty and victimization of an ex convict and he has no car--has to rely on the public transportation system, my reasons for abortion is that if one is raped they should not have to cope with it if they are mentally unstable to begin with, and another is rape/incest, also if the child could end up in an orphanage where they are neglected but hey it could happen to rich families too. watch the movie called 'Sicko' broaden your mind about America, and try not to be so cruel,when women that are poor request getting fixed they should fix them.They would do it for those who can pay.And btw watch the movie called 'Sicko'

Abortion is only a good thing in the case of ectopic pregnancies.

Regardless of reasons, it's still a life you're destroying.
By your logic why won't we just kill everyone in prison? They're not doing socitey any good either.

as far as #6 goes, you cannot predict who they will turn out to be. What if, with abortions, you could have killed the future genius scienctist who will cure cancers? Stop wars?

Besides, who knows... maybe they will find a way for us to live on another planet by then... then over population wont be such a problem

Millions of murdering mothers make governments look not so evil.

America will never know if Christ was aborted, if He chose to come into the flesh again, as a regular child, then mature again as a mortal man...prior to his Second Coming.

I cannot believe so many women so willingly kill such innocent lives.

To me this is something beyond understanding.

It's the most profoundly disgraceful decision and act one can ever make.

If you really do not want it, find someone that would want a baby and give it to them.
