Reality check time...
Let's see a really brutal foreign policy: in 1968, when Czechoslovakia yearned just to have "Communism with a human face", some students at Prague University peacefully protested Russia's heavy hand.
The Russian's responded to this by immediately sending in tanks. They rounded up the entire student council at Prague University and shot the leadership dead on the spot. Then they took the others and sent them to concentration camps where they died.
Quite an eye opener, eh? Now, let's look at how Bush operates: We liberate people from ignorant, intolerant, cruel, backwards tyrannies like the Taliban, or brutal dictators like Saddam "Butcher of Baghdad" Hussein. We have every manner of humanitarian aid ready for any civilian problems... literally flotillas of hospital ships, and enough food to feed the whole population for the duration.
He tolerates as ignorant, ungrateful locals hurl rocks at our soldiers as they try to bring in sewage lines so the population don't have to live in disease and filth, as they did under Saddam.
When soldiers are forced to knock down a door to search for suspected terrorists, the Iraqi owner can get reimbursed for the cost of a new door, thanks to generous and compassionate Uncle Sam.
How about this as Bush's foreign policy... kind of like a loving but strict parent to a child: "Now Timmy, you're not going to play Game Boy all day, and you must stop torturing small animals. You are going to march upstairs, do your homework, take a bath, and then get to bed at a decent hour. If you are a good boy, I'll take you to Disneyland this summer."
Quite a lot nicer than lining up the entire student council and shooting them dead, wouldn't you say?

I don't think so, but after almost eight years of hearing and seeing just how stupid and crazy other nation leaders are, you may start to have a skewed vision of life and maybe do things that don't fall in line with the way ordinary people think. By the way that's exactly what Bush said he would do when he ran for president the first time; not do what was comfortable or what the polls said, rather, he said he would act on behalf of the United States no matter what the politics were.
