Tell me about an emotional experience you have had while viewing a piece of art work. What is the art work you looked at?

A black painting. Seriously, it was pitch black and you have to see it to get it. It's honestly heartbreaking, I literally burst into tears looking at it and everyone had tears in their eyes too.

Although I'm not crazy about Cubism, Guernica was a very emotional experience (saw in the Sofia Reina in Madrid). The disgusting futility of war really comes through in that picture! I think the predominantly grey colors even make it a more stark presentation. I encourage anyone going to Madrid to see it.

when i was in college, the photography and art department had a showing of pictures from 9/11. each picture was a black and white shot of a different victim that jumped from the windows of the towers while they were in mid air. it was a very moving experience to view these people just moments before they took their own lives.

I was on vacation in Italy, we went to the Vatican, there was a piece of art that was breathe taking, I'll never forget it. It was a picture of Jesus being taking down for the cross...
