WW-2 started in September 1939 with the German invasion of Poland.
The Germans annexed other territories over the previous year.

The Spanish Fascists (Nazis) fought a civil war against the legitimate government and that started in 1935 and they were supported by the German Nazis. It was during "Spanish Civil War" that the Blitzkrieg bombing was first employed and tested.

World War 2 (which was fought by nazi germany on one side) began in Europe on 2 September 1939 with the invasion of Poland. The UK & France declared war on the 3rd of Sept.
the USA joined the war when Pearl Harbour was bombed by the Japanese in December 1941.

The actual fighting starting in 1939. But it could be argued the war started with Hitler's election as Chancellor in 1933 (because he immediately began building up the military.)

actually the Spanish civil war was the start I believe since all the Western countries forbid their nationals to fight in it and gave them a freehand it emboldened Hitler
