i asked a question as to whether the professors, firefighters, 9-11 family members etc all were conspiracy nuts for questioning the official 9-11 story. Then provided a link. I wanted to see what everyone thought about that. It was deleted. The reason was "solicitation", i was told. What does that mean?.

other similar questions were all wiped out.

this Yahoo is the second biggest dictatorship after China.

It means that yahoo happened to disagree with you, so, its crackpot employees made up a violation.

It is a vague violation, yahoo is the one that has the final say though. My opinion solicitation is trying to sell something. Like listing a website you own to make money. Kind of like spam.

added. Technically asking a question is soliciting for an answer, which translate to,yahoo can take us out at any time.

Yahoo has assigned unique meanings to the word solicitation. In your case, they mean that your question may have required the answer to go outside of the Yahoo website in order to answer the question. I believe they have this rule in order to keep up the traffic within the Yahoo site, and thus keep up the advertising rates.

Next time, post your links in the additional details, AFTER you post your question. This will work at least 50% of the time because they don't scan the additional details..

I agree, Yahoo is arbitrary and what they did to the Chinese journalist who is now rotting in jail for 10 years is unforgivable. Capitalism can be a heartless thing.
